For some inexplicable reason I am being attacked and goaded my someone called Geraint. I do not wish to use the ignore button but would like you to perform some kind of sanction on him.

If he is unable to behave in a mature and sensible fashion on a publicly viewable forum, then he really ought not to have a place on it.

On forums that I have been involved with in the past, he would have been banned temporarily in the first instant. Could I suggest that you consider this option? I have read him attack others for no good reason too.

He may well be a decent sort of person most of the time, and we are all entitled to waking up on the wrong side of the bed and having a bad day.

But to take it out on complete strangers and try to ruin pleasant discussions and debates goes well beyond the pail. As such, a cooling off period for some reflection would certainly seem to be a sensible option to consider.

However, I have noted that some of his remarks have been removed, so one can only assume that I'm not alone in my thinking.

So thank you moderators for your support in this matter.
 
Gerrunt has had me as a target for his abuse for months now.... he's one of a band of extreme bullies that reside here. If you disagree them, they hunt you down.

And I don't put anyone on ignore because i like to see what's being said.

The key for me is to see this for what it is... just a random forum to visit occasionally for a bit of a laugh - even if the laugh is at people being angry.
Some of the idiots on here will be post past midnight, and then come on the next morning at 7am, it's their life.... well they're welcome to that.

I really am not interested in playing these sort of games.

Greatrant is one of a few idiots that is aggressively gobby. And doesn't like to lose an argument. Just tease him when he's around, or ignore his nonsense,

If your aim is friendly, random, fun discussion... just continue, despite them lot.
 
Whilst I agree, this site is a designed to help people with DIY, GD is just an addy for a bit of banter. The ignore button is there for the likes of geraint. As much as it pains you, I advise you use it.

Don’t worry too much; it’s probably not personal as far as he is concerned. He seems to be both knowledgeable & intelligent but is a total prikc & even I’ve had problems with him. Report him to admin & try to ignore, he’ll be warned off & go away & pick on someone else eventually. I don't know the nature of your problems but you should expect robust banter on the “cess pit” General Forum, it seems to be what it’s there for.

People like him, however, get so many complaints & do so much damage when they venture on the Trade Forums with irrelevant troll crap when General is quiet & that I don’t understand why Mods/Admin don’t either restrict his forum access or permanently bar him & a few others like him. :roll:
 
The thing about ignoring someone is that you might miss something of value being said, or that other's responses may be using and expanding something posted. So you'd be reading things out of context whihc isn;t satisfactory. Far better for the person to reflect on the way he is "speaking" to others and if necessary to be forcibly removed to provide him with a period of introspection.

As you said, the section I refer to is a general discussion area, not a free for all for anyone to make personal attacks and unsustantiated jibes.

However, since the offender doesn't appear to be online (although he could be hiding his presence), and the comments have been removed then one can only assume that the situation has at least temporarily been resolved.

So thiank you again, whomsoever it concerns.
 
Ah well, evidently not resolved after all. I guess that the owners of this site are happy to allow such behaviour to continue unchecked properly. Pity really.

I should have waited for proper confirmation from the administrator/moderators rather than assume it. I'll pop back from time to time to see if this has been looked into, but wont bother signing on until it has. I'm probably not the only one to walk away from this disgraceful abuse and will not be the last.

i think he must spend a week or so in an institution, and you won't hear from him.... and them suddenly he's there like an angry pitbull, snapping at your heels. Ignore him.... he's got social issues...

Be warned that there are people with double identities on here (allegedly), and angry people that are also mods (allegedly) - hence why many posts disappear without trace.

Treat this place for what it is... don't try and change it, but stand up for yourself....that's all !!! apart from that enjoy it..!
 
A few times I’ve nearly quit as well but don't just roll over & die, it’s what the Troll scum bags want :roll: . I’m not sure if they (or Mods) realise that there might eventually be no one else for them to Troll but fellow Trolls but maybe a Troll Forum is their utopia; Admin, perhaps we need a new Forum!

how did you quote a mod? :shock:

and i agree... i used the alert mod button dozens of times during my "i thought you were leaving" period.... and nothing much happened ! :roll: :roll:
