HI
2012 need to add pictures and additonal dates to a calendar is there any free software that will scan from a HP psc1200 and delete & add text pictures ?
Using windows paint but its not very good

Happy New Year to all :)

I was not sure so just tested and Gimp2 will import from a scanner. From "Create" you can select a scanner or camera or any other similar device my microscope and web cam were also in the list.

I installed Gimp as with UFRaw it will handle RAW files from my camera. However my college course would not allow us to use anything but Photoshop CS4 and once that was installed I never bothered with Gimp.

Oddly Photoshop CS4 is not very good with scanning images and I tend to use Paint Shop Pro 7 for scanning.

But returning to free software Open Office is the other option. However my attempt to use scanner with Open Office Draw did fail not sure why it opened it up OK. But using Impress and Writer may be better for you. There are 6 programs within the package similar to Microsoft Office but instead of being based on VB it uses Java script. For the user this makes little difference and it is free.

Again since I have Office on my PC I would likely use Publisher but of course with Access you can produce a whole data base. I think the Open Office version is called Base again the college only allowed us to use Microsoft Office so I have not really used Open Office much except to make PDF files which Open Office has been able to do as far back as I can remember.

There are loads of free calendar templates out there - it might be easier to start with one and add your own pictures etc?
