Just wondering if its possible to change the drayton acl (which currently works my combiboiler mains ecocompact on/off) for a Lp522 thermostat programmer?
Or are they two different things?

Sorry about the confusion here - im very much a newbie here

2 very different things, one is a thermostat (the ACL Drayton) and one is a 2 channel programmer for timed hot water and timed heating periods. You only need a timeclock/timeswitch and thermostat or a programmable room thermostat. What are your intentions?

HI Chris thanks for getting back to me. Im desperate for a programmer as the mains eco compact combi has none so the boiler is turned on bby the thermostat. I was hoping for a cheap (ish) programmer AND thermostat that could be put her. Any recommendations?

If you have a broadband router , Screwfix are doing a deal just now for Hive mini full Kit @ £79.99 would replace every thing and give you access via your smart phone tablet etc.
But there are two different ones, you say you have a combi boiler , but you have a 2 channel programmer, if you only have one room thermostat and definately a combi boiler then you need the single channel one, if you actually have a HW Cylinder like your existing programmer suggests then you need the dual channel one, both are the same price

I would get a programmable room thermostat, such as this. Esi have some notable mentions, but there are several others available, just stay clear of Horstmann, Salus or Altechnic and cheap Chinese rubbish.
