I'm looking to support my breakfast bar and was thinking that these are a great idea https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/218510776/t-brace-countertop-support-bracket?variation0=568125073 but I can't find anywhere in the UK that stocks them and they are pretty expensive. Anyone know of an alternative?

Find a welding firm or steel fabricator and have them made. Probably a lot cheaper than bought-in, and can be made heavier. You can either spray finish yourself with Hammerite spray paint, or ask the fabricator to get them powder coated - black is a standard colour. Not a difficult job to get done, either
