I was sitting in my local yesterday.
I had been using the pub WiFi for about an hour, popped to the loo, came back and the wifi asked be to re-enter the password (which I did).
I used ipconfig/all to find the gateway address for the router. It was 192.68.1.1
I PINGed it but all four packets dropped.
The wifi however continued to work.
From memory, I think it is a Draytek Vigor router, that has two seperate wifi networks (each of which broadcast on both 2.4 and 5Ghz).
I am only used to domestic MODEM/routers. I have never come across one that is set to drop internal PINGs.
The wifi in the pub previously could be a bit hit and miss. The only thing that has changed recently is that they had the Elon Musk Starlink receiver installed.
