If an image is pasted into a post, and then deleted before the post is actually made it remains at the bottom as a thumbnail, and cannot subsequently be deleted.

This is at best pointless, at worst confusing.

Why does it happen?

Probably because it's locally cached.
Is it still there if you try another post later?

Your browser may be caching them? (on your pc.)

Are they still there if you reload the pages or try make another post??

The forum has a memory option when typing replies. It saves what you are doing every minute or so, and you can leave a post, and it'll still be there for you to resume later. The trick is to delete the post, press return a couple of times, and leave that to be saved.

Firstly, am I the only one, now, who sees this:

Is there a delete button for the image on the far right side?

If you do it in edit mode, you have to click 'more options'.

I'll delete it a little later - right now I am curious to know if other people can still see it in post #1...
