Can't get halogen bulb out!

Very simple problem?? I can't get a halogen bulb out of our kitchen light fitting. Have tried turning, pulling, pushing... What gives?

Does it have a spring clip securing it in place?
If they are anything like the UK ones, it could be the issue.
