Good evening everyone.

Thanks for a great forum. Our home is a medium to large 1930's/40's semi-detached, made of bottom-half stone and top-half pebble. I'm not sure if this might be important info, but our home elevation is approx 675ft above sea level, although it is on a long flat road.

The problem is that our home is pretty cold. I believe this is partly due to the elevated area we live in and the colder/damper weather, but I also think it's because we have no cavity wall or roof insulation.

Our wall internal cavities from brick to brick are pretty large, going between a minimum of 40mm to 160mm.

I have been offered a grant to get polyurethane foam insulation which I've been told is really good, but I wasn't convinced as I've heard it can cause a lot of damp problems.

Has anyone had this done and has it made any difference? Also any problems?

Merry Xmas & Happy New Year.
