Hi.
I have burnt discs to play slide shows on the TV before with no problems.
I have had vista since it came out & think I have had success but now I cannot get new burns to play on TV.
Must be something simple. Any ideas please??
Thanks
JonB

Have you changed the hardware that you're using to play the discs on your tv? Have you finalised the disc after burning? what software are you using to burn your discs?

Hi tapir
I have tried.
Windows own
Nero
NTI
& Express Burn
I have 3 TV,s
1st using Deawoo DVD player + recorder
2nd Goodmans with built in DVD player
& 3rd a new small Luxor from ASDA.

It now appears that using Express Burn & the Luxor it works fine.
So next time I will use a different brand of discs. & Express burn.
Thanks for replying.

There are 2 types of dvd disk, not all players play both.
DVD-R
DVD+R

I have been using -R & -RW. I will try the +Rs to see if there is any difference.
Thanks.
JonB

PS
as an afterthought I have a portable DVD player that we use in the caravan & they work on that, so it is the older players that wont play.
I suppose its time to upgrade some of my gear. At least nothing wrong with the computer.
Thanks again.

Hi Jon, as you've found it can be a number of factors that screw things up - media, software, hardware.

I've always found that cheap media (eg the dvd/cd) is cheap for a reason.

as for software, I've been using Imgburn for some years, but I've never had reason to burn images to watch on a DVD

http://www.imgburn.com/ (it's free)

As you say, it might be your DVD player that's in need of replacing, but the cheaper option is to try a decent brand of DVD first, and maybe try that in several different DVD players
