I attached pictures of my ceiling light.

All of sudden it stopped working. I though it might be just bulb/tube and replaced it but still does not work.

All other appliances in the same room are working fine.

I have no idea how to figure out what is wrong.

Here is what I can read on the tube:
38W/835/4P

Here is what on the choke:
EC 36 LC502K
240V 50HZ

Have you a multimeter?

What do you mean by appliances equipment plugged in?

Might be the starter, they are a £1 or so and available from any electrical supply shop.

Your is show in the third picture, disconnect the silver bullet looking item and take that in so they can supply you like for like.

I have already tried a different starter?

Do you think Im using right bulb?

have you tried the right starter? As different tubes require different size starters

You want one rated for 36W

something like this: http://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-fluorescent-starters-4-65w-pack-of-5/43964

Chri5 the silver thing looks more like a capacitor to me and the green thing is the starter?

What you're reading on the tube is 38W/835/4P Wattage/Colour Temperature/How many pins it has

Is the old tube you're reading the code off? Is the new tube 4P or 2P?

Green bit is the starter. I will check if it right size.

The new tupe is 4p.

I think tube has 4 pins I will check pins when I will get home.

if the tube in the photo is the old tube then it has 4 pins.

If you have the right tube and the right starter (and both of those are working fine, then it will more than likely be the choke that's failed.

Having said that I would be 99% sure it's the starter or the tube, new ones are sometimes DOA.

This is the choke you will need, if you wanted to change it

Personally I would just swap the fitting for a new one, as changing the choke is going to be more trouble than its worth

Have you checked all wiring is tight?

Wiring seems ok to me.

I will ensure starter is of right size. You mentioned I need 36W starter.

Also do you think my tube is of right size if compare with choke description I provided?

Any idea how much will it cost for the fitting ? Any recommended place etc to buy fitting?

Thanks for all help.
