Hi all,
I am trying to replace my ceiling rose pendant with a new 3 lightbulb ceiling light and I just cannot find the way to make it work.
The confusion with me is that from the ceiling are 3 wires coming down and one of them has 4 wires in it.

Could someone try to explain how come it doesn’t work since the connection of the wires are the same as they were to the ceiling rose light.

The light is switched on from a 3 gang switch which is turning on the light I am trying to fix, another 2 wall light in the dining room and the light in the living room.

I have connected all the green wires to 1 connector and then to the light
All the browns to 1 connector
All the blues including the grey one with blue sleeve to one connector and then an extra wire to the light
The black one with with brown sleeve to the light.

Appreciate!

Your 4x browns, into the 3x terminals, needs to all be connected together, but not connected at all to your light.

Your 4x blues, need to be connected together and needs to have the blue from your light, also connected to it.

The black, sleeved with brown, should be the only wire connected to the brown going to your light.

Depending on the light, you may also need to connect the earth wire, to those green/yellow wires.

Sometimes, it is simpler/easier, to leave the ceiling rose connections undisturbed, other than adding a flex drop from it, to connect to your new fitting's terminals. then stuff the ceiling rose in the ceiling, with it's cover fitted.

This is what I have done, the light in the living room works fine, the wall lights are working fine but the light I have changed, when turning on, the fuse in the main box goes off

As near as I can tell from that photo, all looks to be correct, which suggests a fault on the light fitting.

Try this... Disconnect that short length of brown, which connects from the wago, to your fitting's connector - disconnect it at the wago end. Does the MCB then trip, when you switch it on?

Take all the lamps out reconnect and see if it trips again. If not try replacing each one individually to see if a particular holder is causing the problem

I even tried to keep the rose in place and just to connect the new light to the rose connections…same
