Hi all,

Planning to decorate a house we've just moved into, first job to plaster over the artex ceilings. Wondering if anyone can answer why the ceilings slope towards the outer walls at the front and back of the house - the ceilings are the same in every room on the first (top) floor of the house.

Thanks

The 'slopes' you see will be the pitch of the roof. They are visible as the internal ceiling height has had to be made a suitable height

This also keeps the roof lower as the bedroom sits higher within the roof space higher than other houses.

See if you can get rid of that coving too - looks worse than the artex in that situation.
