Hi, last night our central heating system seems to have developed a problem.

Our boiler is an Ideal Logic 15. It appears that the thermostat is working fine (?) but somehow the boiler thinks there is a constant demand to supply heating. For example, thermostat currently at 20c and the flame icon is not on. Usually the heating / boiler activates only when the flame icon is on as the thermostat is at a temp below where sought. Currently though it’s about 26c in the house and boiler on Status C and Burner light on. If I turn up the temp on the thermostat the flame icon comes on at 26.5 , but when I lower it back again the boiler doesn’t go off (as it would normally)

Hope someone can help please, I’ve tried resetting everything and powered on/off. Only way to turn off for moment is turning boiler to the Off position.

Any ideas? Thank you

What does status 'C' mean on an Ideal boiler screen?
'C' means the boiler has a central heating demand. This can be resolved by pressing reset on the front of the boiler — it won’t require turning the boiler off at the wall.
