Hi. My half of a shared chimney was recently worked on to repair a leak. Leadwork was replaced and the chimney was repointed. As I know next to nothing regarding these matters I thought I would offer some photos of the result for peer review.

Is there anything that looks like a major issue?

Thanks.

The back cover is often the source of leaks, not clear if that was replaced at all as it looks continuous with neighbours side. Pointing looks like it was done from a ladder.

Visually it looks awful and it's not fit for purpose. The sealant has not sealed the gap on the gutter back (photo 5) and photo 6 shows a hole where water will travel straight into on the diagonal rake. In my opinion it needs removing and redoing using mortar as the gap looks too wide for sealant to be used.

Thanks Blup and DAZB. The company that performed the work has indicated that they will return in three days to correct the issues. I'll post a follow-up here afterwards. Thanks again.

The folks came back out and cleaned up, but recent rains have shown the leak to still be there. They are coming back out today...
