Hi guys,

I’m currently in the process of buying carpet for my whole house (living room and lounge, bedrooms, stairs and landing).

I’ve been reading online and have seen a lot of recommendations for the Cloud 9 Cumulus.

However, on looking at density it seems the Connoisseur has a higher density.

I’m not an expert in carpet at all do not sure which would be better to go with?

The carpet I’m looking to couple it up with is the Kingsmead Tranquillity Platinum.

Thank you in advance for any help :)

Go with the Connoisseur, much better in quality. Cumulus is far over rated and doesnt last as long as the conn

thank you,

is the longevity down to the density?

And I take it cumulus won’t be good on the stairs anyway would it?

Yes its much more dense and heavier.
I don't rate cumulus at all especially for the stairs. In my experience it softens too quick.

I'd recommend conn 8mm for stairs but the conn 10 is ideal as well

I was thinking the exact same thing in terms of density hence my post.

what about Super contract for stairs?

Would it be okay for me to go connoisseur all round including stairs?

Or should I go 8mm connoisseur on stairs and 10mm connoisseur for the rest?

Thank you guys, I’ll go connoisseur all round :)

Yes conn 10 all over will be absolutely fine.
Super contract is a good underlay also, you just have that little bit more softness to the conn 10
