Cob house extractor fan

Hi everyone,

Advice would be much appreciated. We have a cob house and need to install an extractor fan. The wall is about 1 metre thick. Does anyone have experience of cob houses and know how we should go about doing this? Is it better to get a professional with a cob house?

We could go out through the roof instead but the roof is asbestos tile...

We don't have them round here. I have been in them and talked to owners in Somerset. I think you would do best to find an experienced and trustworthy local builder by recommendation from other local owners who know what they're taking about.

You may find a local homeowners group. Incomers are often more active and committed than natives.

Also try to find a good roofer. A tile vent would be easier and need not involve cutting.
