Hi guys

Our shower has its temperature dial stuck and it's nothing but cold.

The bathroom sink and bath both have hot water.

Any tips one what the issue is, how it would be fixed and how much we should expect to pay someone to fix it?

Guessing it's a plumber job.

Thanks all

The thermostatic cartridge may need replacing or cleaning. Isolate the shower, remove the cartridge, and either try descaling it, or buy a replacement. A plumber should charge you an hours labour to replace.

It's also possible that button is broken. Take a carful note of the position of everything, then prise the cap off of the end of the control knob, and unscrew the screw inside. Check to see if there's anything blocking the movement, and then go deeper to check the cartridge. It's possible that there's dirt in the cartridge if there's no filter in the incoming pipes.

Turn off water mains to your property.
Open all bath, basin and kitchen taps. This can take between 10 seconds to 15 minutes depending what system you have.
Remove, refit new shower bar mixer.
Turn on waters mains and close cold kitchen taps, when other taps start to run, then turn them off.
