Can anyone give an opinion how Total AV Pro compares to Avast please?. Been with Avast for ages but no free VPN or firewall now.

This site, I used a lot when working on computers from 2006 to 2016 , when installing FREE versions onto Windows for people , particularly when the MS own version started getting to the bottom of the list
AV Pro & Avast compared amongst many others

If on windows 10 , you may want to look at the inbuilt systems now, they did at one time start to really improve, but not looked at for a while

I guess we need talk to a competent hacker type person -'they' may spill the beans on the most difficult AV etc, to beat - probably need a cattle prod to encourage him/her.

The various tools offer much the same as one another.

What's just as key is to keep an eye on software update, the massive Microsoft updates sometimes fail, so worth checking in particular before interacting with a sensitive website.

Take care opening email, watch for typos in emails suggesting phishing and if your friend suddenly asks you something odd out of the blue, SMS them and ask whether it was legit.

Finally, when googling stuff, take care of your choice of website to visit. Avoid anything .ru and perhaps most from .cn too. E.g. if looking up financial advice, look for hits from recognised websites like Martinlewis, perhaps mumsnet or which.

In other words, take care with the internet and dont rely solely on anti-virus

Cheers
