Hey guys,

I have a rather strange one that I have had to look at for a customer and I wanted you guys to chime in and make sure I am not going totally crazy!

I have a customer who has had a Porcelanosa Bathroom fitted to what looked to be a high standard. I am *very* familiar with Porcelanosa but something is really bugging me with the WC installation.

Basically, there is a more-than-adequate cold mains in the room but the plumber has opted to plumb the WC into a 1.5 bar shower pump that feeds the whole room!

When I asked the question, I was informed that the original fitter had said that plumbing any WC into a shower pump was best practice - now I know for a fact that this isn't best practice and more to the point I thought that, ironically, practice was what the original fitter needed to stop doing silly things like this.

Can I get everyone's impression?

thanks.

Rob

Not best practice at all, if mains is as good as you say then do away with the pump connection.

What happens at 2am when the toilet's flushed, everyone in the house is woken up?? Best practice my ass ... Ridiculous!!

It's just been the easy thing for the plumber to do by the sounds of it. I presume the bathroom was originally a gravity fed system? Then they will have wanted to pump the shower, so rather than separate the supplies out and give the toilet a mains feed, it's all been fitted to the one pumped supply pipe.

Lazy work IMO.

Thanks buddy! I knew this was nowhere near best practice for a WC to be fitted onto a shower pump. Yes, it was a gravity system, thanks for replying!

Apologies, I didn't get a chance to thank you for your input, but for sulking for not thanking instantly, not so much. I appreciate every piece of help/evidence I get.
