Hi guys,
I'm taking down a concrete garage down its around 16 x 22 foot but I will be shortening it to 14 x 10 foot I'm ripping up the block paving and putting a 2 inch base of concrete down 6 inch bigger all the way round for it to sit on I'll re wacker the base and level it if required as it's already got a good MOT and sand base under the block paving. The question is that I've been quoted ridiculous prices for the concrete what mix ratio would you require as we not parking a car in it or anything too heavy also how many 25kg bags would you say buy for the base its working out to be 0.6 cubic meters.

Thanks
Guys

I only lay concrete slabs or paths in 4" min thickness.
Dont concern yourself with the mix ratio or the amount, just call a concrete ready mix supplier, and tell them what the job is. Usually they will barrow in and you only pay for what you use.

As I understand, you are building a base 15' by 11' . The surface is the sand where the pavoirs sat. What is going on the base?

Yeah the base will work out 15' x 11' don't ask why I just didn't put that :/ I think 4" thickness is a bit excessive for a shed what will house garden bits and bobs the heaviest item in there would be a quad what weighs in around 120kg. Under the block paving in a base of MOT and layered with sand but at the minute I'm unsure on the depths of it till I start ripping the paving up.

Vinn I've rang round all the ready mix company's and there wanting between £160-£180 plus delivery for it I'm sure I'll mix it cheaper.... I use to work with biulders etc but for the life of me can't remember mix ratios lol I've been brain washed so it's all railway up there

It's working out less hassle to bite the bullet and go with ready made dropped off, the garage is here in bits ready to go up... Once it's up its time to get that concrete slab roof off the brick built shed that's coming down.

Wish me luck lol
