Concrete slab found under floor boards upstairs

Hi. I need some advice on a concrete slab that I’ve recently found under the floor boards in my daughters bedroom on the first floor. It’s in the corner of the room adjacent to the two exterior walls (and coldest walls).

I’ve always had issues with damp patches on these walls and very much in the area where this concrete slab is.

My question is, could the damp issues and the slab be related? Also what could have been there to warrant it in the first place? A stove maybe? The house is circa 1903 but this doesn’t look that old. Photos below:

Images with the green wall show classic condensation pattern staining to the corner and middle of the walls and that strip by the window too - albeit that's a bit unusual.

The slab is an old hearth.

There’s nothing that I know of, just the roof. There is a boarded off section in the loft where the roof slopes down to the eaves and it’s only in the corner section of the house in the area above this slab. So it’s feasible there may have been a chimney or flue of some sort there at one time.

So you don’t think that the concrete being in the cavity wall is acting like some kind of bridge of moisture?

It's two different places

Yes old fireplace, I recall some properties in Greyhound Lane Streatham that had them just discharging into the loft space, we found out when going to fit a gas fire!
