Hi, I've got a JLTDH21 John Lewis condenser dryer, which I believe is made by AEG.
The dryer made some intermittent banging noises then the drum stopped turning. The belt was in one piece but fraying and some cords had wrapped around the motor drive axle. It had jumped the pulleys and the tension spring had fallen off the motor. The tension pulley is mounted to the motor and the whole assembly rotates for tensioning.
I've ordered a new belt. The tensioning pulley seems to spin fine and self-aligns by moving along an axle. Any ideas what could have happened and is this normal? My thoughts are:
