Connecting Arris rails

I'v just had all the various bits delivered for a couple of sections of close boarding fencing and looking at the arris rails I can't see how to connect them to the morticed holes in the fence posts any advice /tips will be much appreciated!

i have not long had a fence put up like that, they chopped off the ends to make them fit (neatly though)

its too dark for me to take a picture, but i will in the morning if you like
