Conservatory replacement/update

Hi
We've got old wooden conservatory which is rotting away and needs to be replaced with pvc.
Full replacement is quite expensive as expected but one guy said that they can just replaced sides, widows, doors etc and left whole wood roof construction. I have to mention that all roof beam and rest are in good condition only side more exposed to weather are badly damaged.
I was surprised with that solution and try to find about it wood + pvc but no luck.
Do you guys have any suggestion, is that a good idea, would it work or is that just rubbish?

Can you pick up a 2nd hand UPVC one from eBay?

You can make anything work if you know how, whether its viable or not is another question.
