My first post on this forum.

I have been asked for advice by my niece who is building a new home in Portugal. I understand the earthing is normally TT so requiring RCD protection for circuits.

What is the modern arrangement in Portugal - one or two "master" RCDs , as in the UK, or individual RCBOs on each circuit? Furthermore, are the RCBOs (or MCBs) single pole - as is the norm in the UK, or double pole or even SP+N which i believe is common in France?

Any advice on where to obtain Portuguese Wiring Regulations in English would be most welcome.

Many thanks
Paul

You're probably going to struggle to find the Portuguese wiring regs in English.

The best bet would be to get your niece to see if she can find an English speaking spark who now lives/works out there.

Expect it to be widely different to the UK though.
