Control 4

The main problem with all systems is how or if they will interface with other systems, but how much of a problem depends on what you want it to do, so step one is say what you want it to do?

I have a mixture at my house which does not include the OS3 operating system of Control 4, so for me I would look for additions which will work with what I have, most people are the same.

So for me I had two completely unrelated problems, one was we had an alarm to tell us if mother had left the house, located upstairs to wake us at night, however to answer the door in the day, we had to run upstairs and switch it off first.

Second problem was sun on the bay windows would cause the living room temperature to rocket, and the existing wax TRV was too slow acting.

I found one hub that would serve both jobs, which is why I selected the make I am using, and after that point, we got items which would work with it.

In hind sight which is easy, some of the devices I bought were well over priced, and they don't work together as well as expected. So reading the info does not help that much, you needs some one who has used them for same job you want to use them for. So you have a product made by 300 people in Salt lake city, so not really mass produced, and also likely people paid well, so likely a good quality unit, but also likely over priced, however if it suits what you want maybe it is worth it.

However start with the task not the product, what do you want it to do?
