Control Panel full of bluetooth icons?

Hi,
For some reason the Control Panel has been filling up with hundreds of bluetooth icons? The PC is running xp and i have a bluetooth dongle plugged in. How can I stop this, and remove the icons that have been generated.

get rid of any of the software that the dongle installed in the first instance
