Correct nails for Timbers

Hi,

I will be framing my flat roof using 9 x 3 timbers.... what size/type of nails do i use to brin git all together (noggings/overlaps/framing etc) ?

6" round wire nails.

Is there a nail gun that takes that size nails? Everyone ive seen for hire is max 90mm

3" or 4" round or ovals will do, you are only skew nailing to hold things in position, not crucifying it.

How many nails per side of nogging? 2 or 3

Woody are the nails meant to be skewed in then? not directly into the side of the noggin?

You can't knock them into the side of a noggin without skewing them!

Thanks... i bought some 100mm nails to see if they are the right size.
