My daughter has a Corsa C 02 plate with the nasty little three cylinder 1.0 litre engine.

Problems as follows:

When you fire it up it runs for about 30 seconds, the car shakes, smoke pours out the exhaust, then it stalls. If you try revving it it stalls instantly. She's had a new mass air flow meter in it recently and a replacement coil pack.

Any views?

This smoke.....is it steam, black or blue?
I don't like the idea of this misfire, so I'd go for new plugs and then a new coolant temperature sensor. However before all that, is the engine management lamp on, is the coolant level low or the oil level too high?
John :)

Thanks for your reply Burner my owd. Daughter being the hot headed teen that she is (chip off the old block I'm afraid) has got rid and got another car. She's just got a Pug 107 (actually a Czech made Toyota Aygo but also badged as the Peugeot 107 and the Citroen C1) which is a rather nice little motor and solidly built. A damn sight better than anything I drove as a teenager.

Yep, canny little cars with probably the smallest clutch I've ever seen so they don't like people with large feet :ROFLMAO:
Hope she has lots of reliable miles with it.
John :)
