I have an 8cm Step in the Kitchen, I think it was the Garage earlier. I am nearly 80 and getting worried about the Step, Fridge, Dishwasher, and Washing Machine are all in the lower part. I was planning on raising the Floor and also to raise the Floor in the adjoining Room so doing away with the Step completely. It's about 6sqm. with Laminate flooring. Should I take the Laminate up or can I build a Floor on top of it? Or any suggestions......

Take it up then go with plywood or self leveller to bring the height up
