Hi folks
First post, and hoping for some advice on two issues (pictures included).
We moved into this 2014 built house a year ago;
1) Shortly after moving in we discovered some brickwork under the rear south facing patio doors seems to have shifted out with cracks in the mortar, we think this has been before we moved in as we noticed after a couple months.
2) Yesterday, I noticed what I am almost certain are new cracks in the mortar and bricks in the front north facing wall, below/around the living room window up to the Juliet bedroom doors. I have previously cleaned algae from the front wall and sure I would have seen these cracks if they were there before.
I am wondering what has caused this (settlement, movement, shrinkage/expansion?), what needs done to fix it, is it an insurance job etc.
We have 3 upstairs doors that don't close properly, the door frames are literal squint, and a the slightest tilt to the upstairs landing, so slight it took 2 months living here to notice. We should have spotted this beforehand but we didn't.
Obviously worried as this is our forever home and discovering issues is really disheartening.
Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers
Ross
