Hi everyone, this is my first time posting for advise online so fingers crossed I get a good response!?

I am currently going through the process in buying a new house.
The house was built in the 1930s and extended on the pack in the 70s, extending the sitting room, kitchen and master bedroom.
I love the house and really want to buy it but I am concerned about the cracks in some internal walls.
I obviously am aware that I can get a structural survey done on it but it’s going to cost me upwards of £600+ so wanted to get some advise before hand.
The pictures show the cracks and also show the garden which has a small steam running through the middle.
I am worried the cracks could be subsidence? And need tens of thousands in new foundations. OR what I’m hoping just needing a bit of TLC maybe some new supports? The cracks seems to be next to where the VSJ is in place of the original outside wall. The pictures show the worst and most scary looking crack! There is also a similar crack in both sides of the kitchen (again near RSJ) however nowhere near as wide (less than 1cm in kitchen).
ANY advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance, Rhiannon :)

Rhiannon2212, good evening.

Must admit I am having issues with locating the cracks in relation to the plan of the property?

OK.
1/. Do the doors open and close freely? no rubbing?
2/. Any cracks on the outside walls?
3/. Are the floors level underfoot?

Do you know what the foundations are resting on? is it shrinkable clay? or because of the stream is it sandy and even stone?

Ken.
