Curtain Rail or pole?

I would very much welcome some advice on how to proceed with my new curtains - whether to have a pole or a rail.

I have just bought some curtains with big holes on hem so they would go better on a pole (and I'd prefer one). However, my window is a half bay window (if such a thing exists), so I would need to get a half-bent pole. A straight pole going all the way across would be simplest but wouldn't work as the wall on the left sticks out more than the wall on the right.

I have found a 'bendable' track which might work but then I will have the curtains hanging down rather than sliding along a pole, which won't look so nice.

I would be grateful for any recommendations or ideas. Thank you very much!

We have a pole, running inside of our full bay window, but they are simply decoration, we never use them. The radiator is in the bay anyway. Long before that, we had a heavy thermal curtain on a brass track, which hung inside the frame of the window, stopping at sill level, clear of the radiator..

How much of a difference is there between the left and right side of your wall - perhaps a block of wood or something you can attach to the wall for the pole to be supported and straightened might work?

Thank you, I will send this thread to my dad to look at as he's taking over this project, lucky chap!
