Hi there I am replacing some internal doors, two of the openings are not your standard size and will need approx 35mm trimmed off the top and bottom (so 70mm total). Doors I am looking to purchase are Howdens shaker style with medium/semi solid core. The manufacturers recommendation is max 12mm trim from each side.
In others experience is this just a recommendation to cover their backs/guarantee? Looking at the current doors they are a cheap brand with hollow core and appear to have been trimmed more than 12mm and there is no core being exposed, it would appear the lip/frame is solid well beyond the recommended trim of 12mm.
Any advice appreciated
