I'm looking to change the cylinder lock on my front door. The "original" lock is 50mm ext and 50mm int. There is a 10mm "overhang" on the external and a 5mm "overhang" on the internal.

So, me thinking I'm being clever bought a 40mm ext/45mm int, so it would sit flush. However, this lock sits ever so slightly inside the handle on the ext and int by equal amounts.

Has anyone any idea of what size lock I would buy to make it sit flush on both sides?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

As the increment sizes are 5mm, you haven't many options.
You could turn the cylinder around and see what the 45mm extension looks like externally, to give you an idea before ordering again?
Or just live with it being slightly inset (and fractionally more secure!).

I second random in that I would keep what you have as it is actually more secure.
