Hi all,

I've been fitting the latches to some oak veneer doors, done a few perfectly then got a bit lazy/careless and managed to punch right through when drilling one of the lever through bolt holes.

it's pushed the veneer away as you can see. Fortunately most of the damage will be hidden under the rose after it's repaired but what's the best way to repair?

I'm thinking try to inject some glue underneath the lifted veneer, clean up as much as possible then solidly clamp with something hard and smooth to it that the glue won't stick to, then rub it back when dry.

What glue would you use for this to avoid discolouring the oak veneer? normal PVA? I'm putting Osmo oil on these doors later if that makes a difference.

Handy for getting glue into wheres needed but wash out straight away or drop in a container of water until you've time to clean up.....https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ciringe-Refilling-Disposable-Syringes-syringes/dp/B00WUEM8WC/ref=asc_df_B00WUEM8WC/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309912016683&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4979692331275827878&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045647&hvtargid=pla-565166031738&psc=1

I agree with @Mr Chibs for veneer repairs Mitre Mate is your friend! It takes seconds and unlike PVA there is no risk of glue squeeze-out damaging the surfaces or clogging the open pores

Or a link without all the big brother tracking information! ;)

For this:
Code:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ciringe-Refilling-Disposable-Syringes-syringes/dp/B00WUEM8WC/ref=asc_df_B00WUEM8WC/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309912016683&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4979692331275827878&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045647&hvtargid=pla-565166031738&psc=1

it comprises the site address:
Code:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/

some text for search engines to chew over which may or may not be of use in that link showing up in search engine results
Code:
Ciringe-Refilling-Disposable-Syringes-syringes/

the actual product identifier which is all that's really required to display the item
Code:
dp/B00WUEM8WC/

a reference indicating where the link came from (from the same product in this example but could be others)
Code:
ref=asc_df_B00WUEM8WC/

and all the rest is tracking codes used for various purposes including an identifier which is shared across many sites and adverts to connect what you have looked at before to this particular item, in some cases your location so it will show local outlets or branches of the retailer, affiliate codes so that whoever created the link can earn money when you buy something and so on.
Code:
?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309912016683&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4979692331275827878&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045647&hvtargid=pla-565166031738&psc=1

Most sites use a similar format, and most of it is unrelated to displaying the actual product.
