Damp course query

I’ve got a rising damp issue in the corner of a basement room where directly outside the offending wall is a drain. I’ve cemented up the Sides of the drain as it looked a bit worn out and maybe allowing water to ingress through the breeze block wall, but still getting a problem. Thinking now if drilling in some silica tubes the type that absorb damp, but I can’t locate any mortar to drill into and the issue appears to be below the old damp course as you can see from photo. Any tips? Can I drill into the breeze block will it still work?

Post some photos of your drain.

I expect it is a clay gulley and sunken because it is broken and leaking. The leak is providing the water (and also washing away mortar and undermining the wall.) So you will have to dig it up and replace.

Don't waste any more time and effort on patches or magical remedies.

It looks like somebody already wasted their time with chemical injections.
