I’ve noticed a large damp area on our front doorstep. The doorstep is within a dry warm porch. I’ve included photos for reference.
I’m wondering where this is coming from, i suspect the outside storm drain may have become overwhelmed with the current heavy rain fall making the ground saturated. This has never happened before but rainfall at the moment is exceptional.
You can see from the photo of the storm drain that it butts up to the porch. It’s not blocked from what i can see.
Should i just leave it and hope if it dries? Assuming it doesn't dry it could mean something more serious such as a water main which is not far from this area.
