Hi.
About 4 years ago had a loft conversion, a hip roof converted to a gable end. In the new gable end we had a window installed. Every winter we have had problems with damp patches. The window company have removed and reinstalled the same window twice, but we're still having issues. I have now removed the damp patches of plaster/plasterboard. Upon removal I can see the existing timber wall plate, then a bed of mortar, then another new 4x2 timber, then new 210x100 blockwork built on top of this new 4x2 timber. Sorry its a bit long winded, but is it normal to still have the timbers in the new gable wall.
Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated
