Old 1902 house. Recently moved In and just had the first heavy rain.

Concerned how the pebbledash seems to soak up the water. I’m aware the gutter needs looking at directly above the down pipe but I can’t figure out the other patch’s other than them being near a structure door window etc… other houses on the street that are pebbledash don’t have the same problem. Any ideas ?!
Young first time buyer who’s a bit scared!

Cheers all

Hi blup
It is a solid wall on a 1902 terraced property. I have had the gutter cleaned since this post and starting to think it’s just sideways rain causing it on some old pebbledash. Thinking to paint the pebbledash in spring to help

Could be a few things, the stone lintels above your windows could be allowing more rain water to collect on the window cill, when it rains, this then will roll off the cill at the lowest point, not always the front, sometimes at the sides, like in your first photo.

Take a photo or two of the window cills, perhaps they have been repaired and will need a little tlc.

Above your door, looks rain water is running back to the house, rather than dripping off the front, the top of the canopy may need a tweak.

Guttering downpipe, might need gluing/blocked at gutter etc etc.

At 1902 I would imagine solid wall construction.

Is damp coming inside? if not, enjoy your Christmas and don't worry so much, might be a job to look at in Spring/Summer.

In the first pic looks like the drip groove is blocked at the end.

Blup
