You can either use the existing backplate and change the grey wire from 2 into 1 or change the backplate and copy the wires except for 2 should now go to 1.

Hi if I changed the back plate how how would the wiring be ?
Drayton wiser is asking for a live on Terminal 1

Exactly the same except you move the grey wire in terminal 2 into terminal 1. Wiser is asking for a common which in existing is terminal 2.

Hi thanks for the quick reply it's this bit has got me thinking

It’s a bit poorly written tbh. They are voltage free terminals, if your existing has extra low voltage, say 24V, then that’s what will be applied. If you link mains to extra low you will blow the pcb of the boiler.

Hi thanks for all your help just to be super cautious give me the thumbs up on this
Wiring is it correct?
thank you please see below

I note the OpenTherm module, is the boiler OpenTherm? I use oil which has not got OpenTherm, what I am uncertain about is if the OpenTherm module needs removing when not in use?

Hi my boiler has no opentherm on it so I'm going to leave the opentherm unit attached and just ignore it
thank you
