Have seen the above for sale for £265, here is the full spec and do you think it is worth that money.

Dell Optiplex 5090 i5 10505 16gb DDR4 RAM 256gb M.2 NVMe Windows 10 11 Pro 10th gen

Present one i use is about 15 years old and is slow as a glacier when opening documents for research using 2 screens.

It must be better than the one i have it's a core 2 duo released in 2006, it's sff/desktop pc and when im ready it will upgrade to win 11, as you can tell i know jack about puters

Performance wise it will be OK. Can't tell you about value. Laptops gets loud and hot when it's under heavy load.

Seems a decent price.

Lots of very decent ex-corporate machines on Ebay. From Companies that specialise in reselling them when businesses upgrade at warranty end.
Dell Optiplex, HP EliteDesk and Lenovo ThinkCentre all worth a look for desktops.

Thanks mcprinter i will get it it, shouldn't really complain the old one came from a skip, Robin it does have an ssd and cleared of junk once a month but it's just not up to the job.

Thumbs up for a thinkcentre bought three at start of lockdown as desktops for me and my two who were starting uni but staying at home...have worked through two maths degrees with computing heavy courses..they cost 45 each with a power supply for an I5 from fleabay, add some ram and a ssd for 40 and shove linux on it they only draw 125w flat out so our electricity bill collapsed...3x500w on for 10 hours a day down to 3 x100w
