Did I pay too much?

Often thought about this.
33 years ago bought Ashley GT hardtop for Healey .. s/h £25.

Just saw same model on EBay it fetched £215.57

The 33rd root of 215 / 25 = 1.0674
or 6.74% compound interest on my £25, So I guess that was not too bad a price ... Because the RPI since then has averaged 6.95% So I paid a fair price .. twas pretty new too, then.

Hardtop for an MG TF will probably fetch a few quid once they've sold off the stock from the old factory.

Assuming that is the finished colour, not black primer?

Go on, get the car to go with it! You know it makes sense! Buy it now, you've got months to do it up before the summer season.

The Ashley GT top came in various colours.. the one I had was BRGreen, lacked any internal trim or soundproofing.. neat little decal on the bootlid.. Opening rear quarter lights ... Had to make up one's own 'parcel shelf' which kept the boot interior hidden (one removed the standard boot lid prior to fitting the Ashley hard top)
A plywood shelf, trimmed with sponge rubber and black leatherette (not much choice in those daze) formed a base for the large radio speaker to be imbedded into.

The E-bay top had a reflective sheen so was in finish as opposed to matt coat I guess.
