I had an analogue landline until recently. Panasonic phones (4 handsets) worked perfectly well until BT changed over to digital working

Now the phones are hooked up to the modem/ router ( whatever), EE.is the broadband provider for BT
The phone rings but my speech is not heard by the caller. I can hear them. No sidetone

Present phone is KX TG8561E

How can I remedy the situation

TIA

Called them. They said need new phone??
Mind I called EE, will give BT a call and see what is going on.

Problem is, call centres are there to help you out. Sometimes they can be useless too.

No.
I use to fit phones in another lifetime ( 60s)
Blowing into the mouthpiece would result in ‘sidetone’, a feedback to the earpiece indicating power on the line. There is non in my case. So wondering if the instrument itself is responsible to power the circuit

The ringing is 25 hertz that in those days rang a bell with two gongs to ensure if deaf, one would hear at least one.

Do you have a good old fashioned wired phone?
Yes? Plug that into the EE/BT modem-router... Does that work fault free or have the same issue(s) as the Panny DECT system?

If yes - I'd suspect a fault with the modem router..

But have you searched / asked over on the EE Community forum (or even the BT one) ? There'll be more 'specialists' on there than here I'd think...

Thanks for the suggestion. This gives me some some direction.

I had an adaptor supplied when I had a digital line change with a new router supplied by Vodafone. Two weeks later my mum had the same deal, same router and she had problems like you had. They kept telling her it takes up to 72 hours to 'sort itself out'. I went round and it was connected differently to mine. I had a spare adaptor, fitted that and it was all good. Check online if you can as to how it should be connected.

I have panasonic dect phones plugged in to my BT router for a "digital" land line and they work perfectly so it sounds as though something is wrong with the router

I use the identical Panasonic Dect system to you, works fine though there was a few hours delay at the start for it to be fully activated.
Had slight distortion on incoming calls recently - cured with a router restart ! As ever with logic based electronics.
