dimmer G10 lamps

hope somebody can me?
I have 240V inset lights that have G10 50W bulbs in them. I would like to dim them sometimes is it ok to use a MK dimmer switch.

The tungsten quartz halogen lamp is able to be so bright because the very hot quartz envelope reflects the tungsten back to the element. If run under max power this process will be defeated and the element will fail premature.

You can dim these lights but not recommended.
