Dimmer switch and extractor.

Hi, is it possible for a dimmer switch to trigger an extractor fan in the same way a normal switch would? Thanks in advance.

I've used dimmer switches to control ventilater fans before, you need to be sure the fan is'nt rated higher than the switch. I use a Multifan controller now though that will control the fan according to temperature and switch the heating on if necessary
