do Floor tiles and laminate floors make damp worse ?

ive had a leaking sink waste for some time, only just found out.
The ground floor is completely tiled and laminate floor and I am wondering whether it would be better to be part carpeted to help it breathe more ? Thanks

has the leak been fixed?

is the kitchen floor solid or suspended?
does the kitchen floor have tile or laminate cover?

are the other floors solid or suspended?

Hi yes the leak has been only just fixed, it’s a suspended wooden floor throughout.

the kitchen area is small and has tiles.the rest is laminate.

I took a couple of tiles up and lifted a floorboard.
The top surface of the floorboard was wet (also lots of tiny white wriggling things in a small area)

The joist was a bit wet but not rotten.

why not post pics of the white things, and the area below the FFL?

given the suspended floors then there should be enough underfloor ventilation?
are there air bricks all around the building and is the ground level below the DPC? another pic would help.

Tbh I was a bit freaked out so scooped the insects/ larvae up and threw them outside !

I felt a good breeze when it was lifted and there are plenty of airbricks.

There was also a kind of small leaf shaped white fungus( again I didn’t take a pic of that.
These are the pics I did take not sure if they are any help, first of wooden part, second is a brick maybe support.

the sheathing on the cables looks to be ripped - or maybe stained?
the pics should show the joist seats in or on brickwork, and any suspicious white fungus stuff.
