Hi,

Just noticed when sweeping up that my wall has gaps in the brickwork now where the cement has disappeared. Is this a problem yet?

TIA

John

Yes a brickie or at least someone that can do pointing properly.

Apart from not making a mess of the wall and paving, the main concerns are matching the colour and appearance - looks like yellow sand, and preparing the wall and mix so that it sticks and preforms for many years.

Thank you. Surprised it's doing that after ten years although the frost does get into the wall and makes the wall white in places. How long a job is that so I can gauge quotes? Half a day?

It may take half a day or less, but whether someone wants to charge for half a day is another thing. And be wary of those who are prepared to do a quick job instead of a proper job.
