Do wall plates have to be bedded on cement ?

Hi All, Just doing the wall plates on a new build garage extension 6.5m x 6.5m, the brickwork is all done
Now its ready for the wall plates at the front & rear, the walls are level and 4x2 timber brings the wall up to the correct height for the joists, just wondered if the wall plates need to be bedded on cement for building regs or if they can be bolted into the wall with the masonry bolts and fixed by the 1.2m vertical wall plates at 2m centers

Not essential no, but it helps massively with the seating of the plate.

the front and back walls are near enough perfect, when the 4x2 is sat on top its nice and level with no gaps between the wood and brick work
