My passport has expired and I am about to surrender my driving license because I am rapidly losing sight of one eye. Consequently, with the loss of these two proofs of identity, I need some identification documentation that will give me access to UK internal flights. Suggestions from members who have the answer to this problem would be most welcome.

Apparently you can still hold a driving licence with mono vision.
So you could keep your licence and not drive if not confident

Licence about to expire anyway and consultant has hinted that that I am no longer fit to hold a valid licence. Sadly, I’ve got to agree with him.

An expired passport can be used as ID on an internal flight up to 5 years after its expiry date.
Thanks for that Mottie! Thought I was all set until a colleague found the following:

“If your UK passport has already expired it will no longer be a valid form of identification”.

Who are you flying with? Many accept them.
